I have always loved learning new information, whether it was educational or random fun facts because knowing information is important. I also believe that information can have a negative impact, in today’s digital age misinformation can spread like wildfire and reach millions of people in seconds. At the same time, an information overload can be overwhelming and cause people to be confused and unsure of what to believe. This is why I kind of view information as a double-edged sword.

One Conversation Heart at a Time is meant to provide vetted bite-sized pieces of information to help empower individuals to become more engaged in their community. We recognize that information can be overwhelming and what to help make it as easy as possible since information is the foundation for change.

This organization is unique since it is dedicated to raising awareness about a broad range of topics such as mental health, environmental and social justice in an easy-to-understand format to help enact change in our communities. This will be done through a series of different events such as local workshops, seminars, and online events as well in order to increase our impact. Since social media will be one of our main sources to reach a wider audience, for instance, we will have a TikTok series where users can comment (send a conversation heart) on what we should talk about next. We also believe that it is important to reach a younger audience as well which is why we hope to host workshops with local schools.
